It's mid November already...

I've been terrible about taking the camera with me this week, so I don't have any new pictures even though the kids have had some fun events. I'll have to work on that.

Emma is officially a Brownie (Girl Scout). She received her Brownie pin at a little induction ceremony last week. She seems to be enjoying meeting some new friends. I'm pleased with the leaders who seem to be doing a great job getting the girls organized and making sure they have a plan for each meeting. Since Emma is now a Brownie, she is privileged to sell cookies this winter. She went to a cookie education activity on Saturday so she knows a little about the different kinds, how much they cost, etc. We'll see how it goes. That was definitely one of my least favorite things when I was a Girl Scout. Just to date myself, when I started selling cookies, they were $1/box. They are now $3.50.

Alex had his last baseball game and his baseball party. He did an awesome job at the end of the season with his batting. He really started to figure it out and went 3 for 3 at his last game. He was smacking them out to center which was fun to see. One of the coaches commented on how much Alex's batting improved during the season. Hopefully, he won't be back to square one again next spring. At the party, they handed out trophies and team balls to all the boys, plus there was lots of pizza, cupcakes, and drinks. No rest for the weary, though. He ended baseball yesterday and starts basketball practice tonight.

Just a quick note about Alex's choir. His director told them last week that the choir is going to be on TV sometime soon. I guess one of the news stations is interested in featuring a group from a Pflugerville school and they chose Alex's choir. We don't have any more details, but it does mean lots of extra practice. He'll be up there every morning this week. Thankfully, his voice is almost recovered from laryngitis that he had last week. On Friday, his choir performed at the school Veteran's Day assembly and Alex had to stand up there and pretend to sing since he had no voice.

Benjamin is loving walking. We've taken him to the playground a couple times and he loves it. His favorite seems to be the slide. Yesterday, he probably went down about 25 times. I figured I got a mini Stairmaster workout following him up the steps. He is doing an amazing job walking across rough, uneven ground. He's also starting to think about running. Sometimes we see him get going with his top half tilted forward. Then he decides he's going too fast and tries to slow down. His whole body starts swaying until he stops.

Amazingly, Thanksgiving is next week. It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving time yet to me. Maybe it's because it is so early this year, plus the weather lately has been near record highs (upper 80s). That's a far cry from the ice storm we had on our second Thanksgiving in Austin. I'm sure I'll get in the spirit soon.

Have a great week! I'll get some new pictures soon. I promise!

I don't think it feels like mid-November either, although we've had a nice run of fall weather here in GA. We still need RAIN! Nice updates, as always sounds like a busy kid household. Love to all.

Love the update. It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving to me, yet, either. We went out on the boat twice this week! Amazing. That's pretty exciting about Alex being on T-V. Get your DVR/VCR/DVD/T-VO ready because you'd better tape it! cool!!!
