Benjamin fun

Benjamin has been a lot of fun lately...I thought I would share a few tidbits...
Benjamin put his first 24 piece puzzle together all by himself this week. I watched as he did the last piece. His whole face lit up with a radiant smile. He wasn't even looking at me, just looking at his puzzle with a great sense of pride. The above picture is just after he finished the puzzle.

Benjamin is a smart little cookie, but just won't make much progress on his letters. He can recognize several of them and can point them out if you ask where a letter is on the page, just don't ask him to tell you what the letter is. Here are his answers lately when we asked what certain letters were..."Alex", "Emma", "That's a Zack", "That's a George", "cross sign cross - cross sign down" and my favorite "cross sign - cross sign - cross". These "letters" are otherwise known as A, E, Z, G, T and X. He is fascinated by how the letters are made - i.e. each individual line. Eventually, he'll pick them up, but it is very interesting watching him learn them.

Yesterday, I got up early to go show Benjamin's bedroom door since he usually sleeps in a little later than the other kids. Once I got close to his room, I could hear him in there singing his little heart out. It was quite dark, but he was still singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" with much gusto.

Last, but not least, if we ever had any doubt that Benjamin was all boy, those doubts would be erased by the amount of sound effects coming out of him these days. He has a sound effect for everything...i.e. if he is getting ready to run across the room, he says "psheeewwwww" like he's a rocket taking off and if he drops something, he makes a big explosion sound. It is absolutely hilarious.

We love the little guy with all our hearts! Thanks for checking in on him and keeping up with us.

That is so great! Love the picture, and the letter descriptions are amazing...not only does he know the letters, he knows the words that start with them. Very impressive.

Benjamin does look quite proud of his work on the puzzle. I love your little stories about him. He is definitley a smart cookie. The apple definitely doesn't fall far from the tree. I like the story about all of his sound effects! Too funny and cute! Love, Aunt Dude

PS. The pictures ya'll had done while the Swayne's were in town were such a nice surprise! They all look so big and you can tell Emma was really enjoying being the only girl!

What fun things! You'll be so happy in a few years to go back and read these things that you swear you'll remember, but somehow seem to forget. :)
