Halloween Fun!

We had a fun Halloween, although Benjamin had to miss out on the trick or treating. Yesterday, I took him to the doctor who said Benjamin had a nasty sore throat. We decided to keep him home from the festivities. Fortunately, he didn't know the difference and got to spend some one on one time with Daddy. He's still under the weather today, but hopefully will turn the corner soon. I'm planning to try to take a picture with all 3 of them in costume even though it will be after the fact.

We went to Alex's best friend's house for pizza beforehand. Then a very large crew of kids headed out for trick or treating. I don't think they got quite as much candy this year since we were waiting for it to get dark. They probably didn't start until 7:15 and came back in around 8 p.m. so they could do the "candy swap". All the girls in one group and all the boys in another group dumped out their candy and started swapping things they didn't like. Emma was getting lots of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups from another girl. Score for Daddy! Then Alex was trying to swap Butterfingers. I had to put a stop to that!

Earlier this week, Alex had his first choir concert. They sang 5 songs including "Banjo on my Knee" and "School Song". It was fun watching him up there singing. I remember his kindergarten program when he didn't even move his lips. In the picture below, Alex is in the middle of the front row.
