Triple G (or Quintuple G according to Alex)

We had lots of "G's" visiting us over the week-end. My dad drove my grandparents to Texas from Iowa on their yearly winter pilgrimage. They stopped to visit on the way down. The kids were thrilled to have Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and Grandpa stay for a couple days. We squeezed in some fun activities considering they got here on Sunday afternoon and left Tuesday morning. On Sunday, they saw Alex play baseball. Unfortunately, he didn't get to pitch. On the plus side, it was a beautiful day to sit outside, sunny and in the mid 70s. Monday, we went to the Austin Zoo. This zoo doesn't have lots of big animals, but there are enough to keep the kids happy. We saw monkeys, parrots, a black bear, 3 tigers and lots of goats, deer and roosters. We took a little trainride around the perimeter and had a beautiful view of the hills of Austin. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa seemed to make it around pretty well. The kids fed some goats and deer. Emma was very cautious, but figured it would be alright after she saw Benjamin do it. Once we got home from the zoo, the kids wanted to carve pumpkins. The adults were still coming in the front door while the kids were already out the back door to carve pumpkins. Grandpa said Alex already had half the top cut open by the time he got out there. Fortunately, he was using a little pumpkin carving tool and not a real knife!

Great Grandma and Grandpa were amazed by Benjamin's signing. They thought it was great to watch him say me and ask for water. Great Grandpa would repeat the signs back to Benjamin and they played lots of catch using the me sign.

Happy Halloween to everyone! I'll post again this week with pictures from Halloween. I've got to run Benjamin to a doctor's appointment as he has been running a low grade fever. Have fun!

I'm glad everybody had a good time! Mom, thought the Buckley household would be quite a lot for Grandma & Grandpa Powers to adjust to but it sounds like they had fun and they really enjoyed seeing some of their far away great grand kids. Cute pictures! Benjamin seems to really likes animals! Love, Aunt Dude
