He's bouncing back

Benjamin did pretty well last night. He slept through until about 4:45 when his IV pump started beeping because it was tangled around him. He dozed a little longer until about 6 a.m. and has been awake since then. We keep waiting for the pain meds to knock him out, but he has yet to take a nap. Hopefully, he'll take a little one this afternoon.

He is already back on regular feedings and hasn't had any trouble with those. Last time, he had no food for a few days since they wanted to make sure he didn't develop any bowel troubles.

Today, he's been a little fussy, but not too bad. I think he's doing pretty well for being less than 24 hours out from surgery. He definitely is two. He is exercising his twoness on a regular basis with frequent nos, headshakes and general contrariness (I don't know if that's a word or not, but you get the gist).

Thanks for checking on him.

I've read the last couple days to get caught up and I am just amazed and think he is quite the BIG trooper. You guys are an amazing example of what a loving family can endure and overcome. While Kristin and I deal with Sam's numerous ear infections (currently has a double per the doctor this AM!), reflux, and other things...ours seem pretty minor compared to the challenges you have faced. Julie, I appreciate the responses you send when we email out about new pictures of Sam. You are always good about that and I look forward to reading them. Keep up the great work and positive outlook...I know we are saying our prayers for Benjamin's quick recovery and longterm success. -Todd
