Lots of good times...

Now that I'm very delinquent in my posts, I guess I'll try to start catching up...What have we been doing over the last 2 1/2 months...I'm sure you can guess. Lots of birthdays (Benjamin and me), holidays, driving, and getting back to school. I'll cover a few things today and then I hope to some more during the week. I hope you enjoy our family happenings.

I hit the always magical 39 in November. As I've gotten closer to turning 40, it seems to bother me more and more. I didn't think it would, but I'm revising my opinion. I'll try to keep a friend's advice in mind next year. She says, "It's just a number!" I don't know what kind of celebration I'll have next year, but it might have to be something big.
Benjamin continues to have a ball at preschool. For Thanksgiving, the school hosted a feast for all of the children. Each class was dressed as pilgrims, Native Americans, turkeys, fall trees, etc. Benjamin dressed as a Native American and did a great job enjoying the feast. He found out he likes pumpkin bread and also made it through more than one piece of pumpkin over the holiday. After Thanksgiving, we attended the Children Giving to Children parade in downtown Austin. It seems to have become an annual tradition. We have our spot staked out each year and enjoy the thrill of hearing dozens of Harleys revving their engines to start off the parade. Emma always likes the horses and Alex enjoyed the bands (rock not marching) this year.

Yikes, hard to believe my oldest sister will be the BIG 4-0 next year! You look great!

I love the picture of all the kids at the parade, they all have great expressions.

We had a great time visiting with you guys while you were up yonder in the great Midwest! Joe and I forgot how much your kids LOVE to play games, holy cow I thought I was obsessed!

Love, Dude

Julie, don't let a number 40 get to you...celebrate with a big party if you wish, but you will just have a birthday..of course, this is coming from someone who will turn 47 a few weeks before you. You will continue to be so busy with the kids, that you don't have time to think about age-- you just have to keep keeping on. It was great visiting with you and Benjamin on Thursday. He is a jewel.
