Benjamin is Home

Benjamin was discharged at about 3 p.m., so we were home by around 4. We thought he might take it a little slow at first. Nope, we've already caught him trying to jump off a chair to reach his balloon and showing us how he can skip. That is amazing considering how he felt just yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon, he started perking up and then he was on a roll. We went to the playroom and he made several crafts. He also got to drive a little 4x4 car and played in the little kitchen, "cracking" 3 eggs at a time. Last night, we switched him over to plain Tylenol and that seems to have done the trick for his appetite. He started eating a little more today and finally pooped this morning. That is what the doctors were waiting for.

Now he will wear an abdominal binder for about 2 weeks. We go back to the urologist in 2 weeks and then nephrology (kidney doctor) in 4 weeks.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, thoughts and prayers. He is back to a smiling, happy boy who is feeling pretty good.
