Benjamin has lots of new tricks, mainly related to his part monkey nature. He has become a climbing fiend. The newest excitement is climbing up the bunk bed ladder to reach Alex's top bunk. He sits on the top bunk, grinning and bouncing. He also has figured out how to climb up on our bed by using the side rail. Fortunately, he knows how to get down from our bed as well. The top bunk is another matter. This evening, I saw him trying to figure out how to climb the gate by the stairs. He was wrapping his toes around the bars and pulling up as hard as he could. He got himself several inches off the floor. He also enjoys dancing. He puts both arms above his head and then starts swinging them around. We tried to videotape him, but the big kids kept gettting in the way. We'll have to try again since it's pretty cute. Also, you can see above that he loves working on Mr. Potato Head. It's perfect for him since it has lots of little holes for him to explore.
Summer is heating up around here. We finally hit 100 degrees. Uggh! We have spent the last few days inside reading, playing games, doing crafts, kicking the beach ball in the play room, etc. The kids saw a movie on Sunday with Grandma Mindy. I told them they could split one box of candy, so I sent Ziploc bags with Grandma to hold the candy. She said they had to dump all the Mike and Ike's in one bag, then count them and separate them exactly. Grandma got one since there was on odd number.
I took the kids swimming after dinner on Saturday. We got home around 8 p.m. By 2 a.m., Alex had swimmer's ear for the first time ever. He didn't go back to sleep the rest of the night because it was aching. Sean didn't sleep after that either, but managed to sneak in a morning nap. I slept from about 5:30 to 7, but Alex kept going all day with no nap. Pretty amazing.

Wow, sounds like Benjamin is really enjoying his new found freedom...crawling and climbing. That's funny that Alex & Emma counted out each Mike & Ike. I'm surprised they didn't ration them out by color too. That was so kind of them to give Mindy the one extra, hahaha. Love, Aunt Dude
Hmmmm...wonder where the kids got that from since we NEVER had to make sure everything was even between the three girls. :)
Glad to know Benjamin is part of the general monkey population of the family. My two monkeys are about ready to climb the walls here since it has been too hot to play outside. Ugh right back at you. Hang in there and just think, only a week and a half until school starts.
Love, Aunt Jennie
