Dr. Cortez just stopped in to check on Benjamin. He said he seems to be right on target. Assuming he continues to do well, they may move him to the surgical floor tomorrow. ICU seemed ready to move him today, but Cortez wants him to stay and be monitored until tomorrow afternoon. He may also get to start getting a little fluid through his G-tube tomorrow or possibly the next day.
Benjamin has been doing so well. He didn't make a peep when they drew blood earlier today. The nurses gave him a truck set out of the treasure box since he did so well. He isn't ready to enjoy them yet, but will be soon, I'm sure. He also had a chest X-ray just to make sure he isn't getting any fluid build-up. We haven't heard the results of it yet. The ICU doc listened and said his chest sounded fine, but he seemed to be working a little harder to breathe.
Grandma Hested is enjoying the special pleasure of attending a Brownie Girl Scouts meeting while Grandpa Hested is taking Alex to his basketball game. It is a busy day around the Buckley household.
Thank you so much to everyone for the special comments and email messages. We know that Benjamin has lots of prayers coming his way. Love to all...
