We're quite the baseball family these days. Even Emma is getting into it. Her Girl Scout troop went to a Round Rock Express (AAA farm team for the Astros) last week. The ballpark invited Girl Scouts to come and participate in a parade on the field before the game, so Emma got to walk on the warning track around the edge of the field. The camera man was there, so the kids were projected onto the scoreboard as well. Pretty exciting! Emma's other news is that she lost one of her top front teeth during the night last night. It was dangling by a thread all day yesterday. Sean almost had her convinced to pull it out before bed, but she couldn't quite do it. Sean thought it would come out sometime during the night, so we were hoping she wouldn't swallow it. Fortunately, it all worked out well. No pain or worries and the tooth was found quickly. When Emma couldn't find it at first, she was worried the tooth fairy had already visited and taken the tooth. Now it's time for the second tooth fairy visit in two weeks.
Unbelievably, Alex starts swim team in one week. It is almost May, so that means it's time to head to the pool. This will be Alex's third season with the team. It's all good until we have to get up at 5:30 a.m. on Saturdays. That's the worst part, but once we get going, it's fun.
Sean is SO close to the end of the semester. This week is the last week of classes. Finals are next week and then he has to turn in grades. Fortunately, his class is fairly small this semester, so grading the final won't be a huge commitment like the fall when he has 30 or 40 students enrolled. Hang in there, Sean. You're doing a great job!
I'll leave you with a picture of the kids' fort. Fort building is a favorite activity around here, especially on rainy days. They never stay in it for very long, but they love building them. Benjamin climbed in and was very giggly. He wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he was happy to participate.

Wow, that's a pretty colorful fort. The Great Grandma's should all be proud! How exciting to walk on the field or very close to it for Emma. Sounds like things will be picking up speed real quick for you guys again even if school will be ending soon! Love, Aunt Dude
Thanks for calling yesterday - it was so good to catch up. I miss you guys so much - wish we weren't so far away.....
LOVE LOVE LOVE the fort! I imagine we'll have lots of those next winter! :)
Congrats to Emma for being such a great girl scout - that's awesome !!
Emma looks so grown up out there! How fun for her. Swim sounds fun. Well, just being able to be outside without a coat and snow sounds fun to me right about now, as I look out the window on the frosty, snowy white ground. But, swimming sounds especially fun. Enjoy all your fun activities. Good luck to Sean with the end of the semester!
