Benjamin appears to be on the mend. He continued to act a little under the weather for the last several days. I spoke with Benjamin's urologist a few times and he recommended that we take Benjamin in to the pediatrician for a blood draw. He wanted to make sure there wasn't anything funny going on with Benjamin's kidney related numbers or white blood cell count. Benjamin's ped called late yesterday and said everything looks normal (well, normal for Benjamin who's kidney numbers are always high). He did say that Benjamin's "viral fighting cells" were elevated, so it probably indicates that he had a virus over the last week. You know something is wrong when your 2 year old lays down on the floor for 10 or 15 minutes in the middle of the day rather than running around like a maniac.
Yesterday, after he had his blood drawn, he got upset that his band-aid came off, so I offered to get him another one. When I asked him where he wanted it, he promptly responded, "Forehead" and he started pointing to his head. That's where we put the unnecessary band-aid and that is where it has stayed for the last 24 hours. Whenever I ask if he wants to take it off, he says, "No, leeb it on!" Everyone keeps asking me what he did to his head. Pretty funny.
Alex has started swimming again and is loving it. They have jumped right back in to learning strokes while conditioning. Last year, I swear he kicked back and forth on the kickboard for 2 weeks straight while they were trying to "condition" the kids. He's happy to be back with some of his swimming buddies.
Today is field day at school. I went up early this morning to help the PE teacher set up. I was jealous because the games looked like lots of fun, everything from the good old balls on the parachute to hula hoops to picking up marbles with your toes. She seemed to have it very well planned out and set-up. The kids were so excited that you would have thought it was Christmas. They came running in this morning and started bouncing on our bed shouting, "It's field day. It's field day!"
I would like to wish all the moms happy Mother's Day. I hope you are pampered and well loved. You deserve it!

Happy Mother's Day to you! I'm so glad Benjamin is feeling better.
I second that, Happy Mother's Day to you too! I'm sure your kiddos with Sean's help will have a nice suprise for you. I'm also glad that Benjamin is feeling better even if it means he is back to running around like a crazy 2 year old! He must have got the idea for you to put the bandaid on his forehead from cousin Zack who quite often seems to have a bandaid somewhere on his head or face. Boys will be boys! Love, Aunt Dude
