I just realized it has been almost 3 weeks since my last update. I guess time flies when you're having fun.
The kids are doing well. We've had a few sniffly noses and coughs, but nothing too serious. The kids just got their flu shots this week. It was quite an ordeal for Emma, but happily, she only has to do it once a year. Benjamin was a pro since he gets his weekly shot. Now I just have to get mine done.
So what have we been up to? Hmmm...School, piano, soccer and swimming...Alex and Emma got their second round of report cards and they looked great. I always feel bad for the teachers that have to do report cards every six weeks. It seems like overkill to me, but I suppose they're used to it.
Emma finished up soccer for the fall. They tied in their last game, so it seemed like a victory. Emma really enjoyed it and was much more into it than she was 2 years ago. She's talking about the spring season already.Alex recently went through a dilemma about swimming. The outcome is that he will stop swimming at the end of the month. He is planning to swim in a meet tomorrow and then that will be it until summer league. I'm glad he decided to give it a try so that he doesn't sit and wonder whether he would like it or not. He struggled with not wanting to disappoint us, but ultimately, I think this is for the best. We really want him to enjoy swimming, not hate it.
A recent Benjamin quote...I asked, "Benjamin, are you a big boy?" His reply..."Almost there." His favorite thing to tell everyone these days is that he is growing bigger. We recently switched him to a big boy bed and he was very proud. In the morning, he announced, "Me did sleep in my big boy bed." The best part is that he stays there until we open the door to come get him.
The kids had a day off from school this week, so we visited Dinoland at a local park. It is an exhibit with 30 life size dinosaurs. Benjamin likes to tell us that he saw big ones and little ones.

Way to go on the big boy bed Benjamin. It does sound like you are "almost there". :) Lookin' good kiddos, we love you all.

What a fun park! I'm sure that WAS a big decision for Alex. He's such a great swimmer, he'll pick up right where he left off in the spring.
How fun! That park looks awesome! And that's amazing that Benjamin will stay on his bed like that. What a good kid!
